Our Story
Who We Are
At HealingWorks®, we are more than a private mental health practice—we are a sanctuary where mental and emotional healing becomes a sacred act of transformation. Our mission is to empower couples and individuals to break free from intergenerational cycles of trauma, reconnect with their authentic selves, and cultivate lives filled with abundance and love.
Through culturally responsive therapy, intentional dating and wellness coaching, and marriage counseling, we guide our clients on a journey of self-discovery, emotional intimacy, and empowerment. We uniquely blend ancestral wisdom with modern therapeutic techniques, creating rituals that honor the richness and resilience of our culture.
Whether through individual sessions, couples counseling, groups, or our signature courses and digital resources, HealingWorks® is a space where growth, connection, and liberation flourish. Here, healing isn’t just therapy—it’s a lifestyle. Our approach inspires a cultural shift, redefining how we experience therapy, as an act of community, culture, and self-empowerment.
HealingWorks® is your partner in creating a life rooted in love and purpose. Together, let’s honor the past, embrace the present, and build a future that’s truly authentic to you.
Our Founder«
Anastacia Sams, MA, LMFT
As the owner and founder of HealingWorks, I believe we are designed for connection. However, our western society often neglects the importance of the collective. I am a firm believer that loving yourself allows you to love others more fully. Allowing yourself to be seen by others, in safe and loving community, is to allow yourself to walk in abundance.
In love, there is strength, beauty, and resiliency. I am passionate about helping couples love each other in ways that are healing and that break those intergenerational patterns that don’t serve them while strengthening the ones that do. I want to help you and your partner create a long-lasting love that lends itself to joy, laughter, connection, and deeper intimacy.
Growing up as a Black American woman, I often felt unseen. I later realized that feeling unseen was directly related to how much I found myself in white spaces where I was perceived to be “lesser than”. Pretty soon, I internalized that feeling, which manifested as a lack of self-confidence and an inability to honor my worth and my voice. Finding healing through allowing myself to be seen fully and without judgment, by myself and others, has been essential to my well-being. I am passionate about helping you to heal, increase self-confidence, and find (and use) your voice while embracing your authentic self.
As a licensed therapist, a life coach, and a relationship expert, I believe that unlocking your authentic self helps to facilitate loving connection, healing, and joy, allowing you to thrive in abundance.
